SERBIAN PROGRESSIVE PARTY, SNS - the ruling political party in Serbia, which has more than 700 thousand members as of 2018. The party was founded in 2008 by a group of 21 former pro-European members of the Serbian Radical Party, led by Tomislav Nikolic and Aleksandar Vučić. In 2012, the Let's Get Serbia Moving coalition, led by the party, won 73 seats in the National Assembly of Serbia, which is 24.05% of the entire parliament. Two years later, a new coalition was formed - "Future We Believe In", which was still led by the progressive party. SNS received 158 mandates or 48.35% of seats in that electoral cycle. In 2016, the composition of the coalition underwent some changes, and the political entity itself received a new name - “Serbia Is Winning”. In total, the coalition won 131 seats, which is 48, 25%. The Serbian Progressive Party nominated Tomislav Nikolic as a candidate for the presidency of Serbia in 2012, who won the second round with a score of 49.54%. In the 2017 presidential elections in Serbia, the party nominated A. Vučić as a candidate for state office. Vučić won the first round with 55.06% of the vote. The latest elections (2020) for the lower house of the federal parliament in Serbia ended in victory for the SNS coalition - “For Our Children”, which received an absolute majority. The coalition received 188 seats, which is 60.65%. Since 2012, the post of President of the Party has been held by the President of Serbia - Aleksandar Vučić. Since 2010, the Progressive Party has had an agreement on interaction and cooperation with the All-Russian political party "United Russia". In 2019, the parties signed an agreement on deepening the Russian-Serbian strategic partnership in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
